The good news is that my claim was paid in full. However, it took over 60 days for the process to complete. I had to make 5 phone calls and found out that one of my emails to them requesting additional information sat in one of their email folders for 30 days with no action. Overall communication was not great but happy that the claim was paid as requested

Unfortunately, while I was in Cuba, I got sick. I reached out for support and it was pretty lackluster. The representative mentioned there are two doctors but he wasn’t sure what their specialty was or if they were taking patients. I very much felt like I was stuck in Cuba with no support.
Since being home, I’ve attempted to contact the claims department twice by phone and once by email and still haven’t heard anything.

I am actually quite upset with this because I sent HTH an email inquiring whether I could get some non-urgent medical treatment as a part of my plan, and they never bothered to answer even though I received an automated email from them saying that they received my inquiry. I checked my spam box too to make sure I didn’t miss any emails from them. Very upsetting.

While working with providers HTH has already contracted with can make the process of getting care even easier, customers are not limited to using Providers within our network. One of the perks of HTH is that you can choose when and where to receive care. Our provider search can be accessed 24/4 through the member portal.
It took 2.5 months for HTH/ Nationwide to completely process travel/quarantine claim for trip in February, 2023. It wasn’t until I filed a claim with Illinois Dept of Insurance and customer service at Insure My Trip that I finally got reimbursed claim settled.

Absolutely do not get this insurance. Our family got Covid on a trip to Ecuador. I called the HTH Worldwide Trip Protector customer service as soon as we got a positive home test to see what we needed to do. I was told that we did not need to get a test at a doctor's office or pharmacy to prove that we had Covid. I was told that because of the highly contagious nature of Covid, that no proof was necessary. Now HTH refuses to cover our claim and we are out almost $2,000.
