I had no need to use this insurance policy and it cost me $1468 which is by far the most I have ever paid for a travel insurance policy. Travel in the Antarctic is expensive compared to anywhere else in the world (and it was the 7th continent I have visited, and I've been to lots of remote places) . So one should expect to be obliged to buy a comprehensive travel insurance policy and it will be expensive. I suppose if you can afford a cruise in Antarctica you can afford the buy a very expensive travel insurance policy.
The policy provided me with "peace of mind" which is worth something.

Great alternative to cruise line associated insurance. Didn't have to file a claim this time, but have in past with Travelex and had no problems getting paid, unlike a claim with AON going on 9 months since date of loss.

Travelex Insurance does not make claim determinations; however, we have escalated your concerns to BHSIC, and we have been advised that your claim is in the que to be processed. To clarify your comment on Travel Delay, you are eligible up to the maximum benefit amount, which is per day and per person.
It is important to remember that insurance is highly regulated, and all claims are determined based on the required documentation submitted and the policy details for the policy you purchased.

We received the full refund to which we were entitled, but it took five months to get it! The cruise was for October, we canceled in August and sent in claims, had to resend information again, and didn’t get our funds transferred into our account until January. Had to call several times to see what the delays were.

Fortunately I didn’t have to submit a claim this trip but a couple of years ago I did and Travelex covered the entire cost of my six day hospital stay in Uppsala, Sweden. I’ve already purchased another Travelex Select plan for another upcoming trip to Sweden this summer.
