Most reviews are just people saying they felt secure knowing they had insurance, but never actually filed a claim so that’s not really a legitimate review in my opinion because you don’t have the experience of what happens when the company is held to fulfill its responsibility. I did file a claim so I can report on this with certainty. Overall, I was satisfied with the result. My only complaint is that they drug their feet quite a bit on processing the claim. After submitting the documents, including all of the receipts for everything, I didn’t hear from them for over a week. I emailed them and they said that it takes time to process the receipts. Then they said they needed me to submit more documentation including emails from hotels and my credit card statement showing the purchases, even though I had submitted receipts with my name and last four digits of my credit card number on them. I don’t know why they needed two different proof of purchases for the same purchases, especially since the cash purchases didn’t require anything other than a receipt. Seemed like a delay tactic or a beaurocratic move. After I went through the trouble of printing out my credit card statement and emails and scanning and uploading them. I didn’t hear back for over a week again so I finally had to contact them and ask what’s going on. They said to allow up to 15 business days (3 weeks) to review. This was a cut and dry claim due to the global IT outage. It should not have take so long to resolve in my opinion. They ended up approving everything except for the hotel stay that I missed due to the outage. They said that only travel expenses booked before I had left for my trip were covered and anything booked while on the trip was not and since I booked this hotel while on the trip it wasn’t covered. Seems sus to me but I accepted what they offered. They paid by check through the mail and cannot do payment with technology from this century such as PayPal or direct deposit. All told, I began the claim in August and was paid out in October. Due to the snails pace processing time, bureaucratic red tape and that I had to follow up with them just to get any information. I probably would not use this company again.

I gave this product only half a score because I never had to file a claim. I shopped around carefully and chose this product because it was affordable and seemed well-recommended. However, the true test is filing a claim. That's the only basis on which I can give a recommendation. If others want to use this product after careful shopping, I don't object and wouldn't say it's unwise. I'm glad I didn't have to file a claim and I hope you don't either.

I always use IMT and recommend to others. Staff on phone is always helpful and they have large variety of companies. NEVER but from a cruise or tour company. If they go out of business - many have- you get nothing

Thank goodness I did not have to file a claim, but it was comforting to know that I had protection I needed on my 10-day vacation. The coverage was priced similarly to what the cruise carrier offered, but FlexiPAX also covered may post trip travel and the round-trip air - should I have needed it.

We were on a river cruise called the “Romantic Danube.” Torrential downpours the week before caused the river to rise to the point that the ships ahead of us on the river couldn’t get under the bridge. We heard that ships ahead of us were taking all their passengers by bus, with their luggage, from port to port, staying in hotels. Passengers who got their insurance directly from the cruise line had no recourse due to fine print in their policies. By the time we got down the river, the water subsided and our boat was able to sail under the bridges. But we were glad we had our third party policy, with trip interruption coverage, since we felt we would have been covered as a series of bus rides from hotel to hotel, dragging all our luggage, isn’t a cruise!

Two items worth mentioning:
1) Difficult to buy the coverage wanted, since everything is bundled, selling and charging for things not needed.
2) I found it confusing and annoying having to keep apart the seller and the insurer, since based on the website names it was really unclear that there is a difference. When I called one of them to clarify the premium paid (there was a significant difference between what I had paid and what was confirmed on the receipt), first thing I was told was "You need to call [the other guys]. Calling the other guys the response was "We can't see that on our end, you'll have to speak with [the other guys]". An easy way to discourage customers and annoy them at the same time. While purchasing the plan provided some sort of peace of mind, based on the "call the other guys" responses I was dreading to have to actually file a claim. Fortunately I didn't have to file a claim, expecting to be bounced back and forth until I (the customer) simply cave and gave up. So from that point of view, buying the plan was only replacing one kind of stress with another. Recommend it? Maybe. Buy it again? Maybe. Only after exploring other one-stop options, where the insurer is the seller and none of these "call the other guys" games. Kind of disappointing.

Luckily all went well and we didn’t have to make a claim, but it was definitely good for “peace of mind”. Especially, when the potential weather had things a bit up in the air for a few days!
