We did not file a claim, but did use the telehealth service when my husband tested positive for COVID-19. It was reassuring to be able to speak with a doctor familiar with European rules for isolation and also testing needed to return to the USA. Next time I’d buy coverage for an extra week as our trip was extended due to his positive test and a flight cancellation beyond our control.

I also wish we had purchased trip interruption insurance since one of us had to abort the trip due to extreme altitude sickness. The trip was cut in half essentially loosing $2250 worth of travel experience. Insure My Trip personnel were very helpful to explain that if we incurred any medical expenses we should file a claim. However, we did not incur any medical expenses. She just had to get to a lower altitude for relief.
