My husband and I thought that we were going to have to cancel our trip due to his mother having surgery. I emailed WorldTrips to question our options and was asked to call them. The lady was so sweet and informative. She assured me that with our canceled receipts we would be reimbursed for the full amount. Thankfully the surgery date was moved and we did not have to cancel our trip, but the peace of mind of knowing that we were covered during this stressful time was worth the small amount that we paid for insurance.

Had to claim for delayed baggage and the cost of buying next day clothing. Claim form was easily completed online with scanned receipts and baggage delivery info and a check arrived within a couple of weeks, no quibbles.

Insurance is best when you don't have to use it - it provides peace of mind in the event of an unfortunate occurrence. What I like about insuremytrip is the ability to select and customize plans to suit our needs. For example, having a pet rider is very important to us, and I haven't been able to find that through a TA.

I think it's a good comprehensive package and provides extensive coverage for difficult jurisdiction. However, some policies provide more flexibility with respect to changes in your travel itinerary. The company refused to extend the policy by a few more weeks when it became inadvisable for us to take our return flight on the scheduled date. This is an entirely fictional restriction on coverage which left us abroad with no protection and no means to buy a new policy (since we were already out of the country and therefore ineligible)

What a horrible claims experience! If you peruse through the reviews you will see that nearly everyone who has actually filed a claim with this company had a poor experience. Their claim submission process is clunky and unforgiving. I uploaded 60+ documents supporting my claim and they came back asking for more (for example, a receipt from a travel supplier showing paid in full by a credit card is not considered proof of payment. They want a copy of your credit card statement). Their turnaround time to respond to each request is 30 business days, so the process drags on very slowly. Ultimately, a random deposit showed up in my bank account for a partial payment, but I've never received any explanation of what was paid and what wasn't. I've repeatedly contacted them through their secure messaging but never get anything back other than an acknowledgement of my message. You can get a live person to answer the phone but they don't know anything about your claim so that's a waste. The last correspondence I got was on June 10, and they still had my claim as "Stage 1 initial review". It is now September 20 and I've heard nothing more from them. It's like a black hole. I guess I should be thankful that they paid me anything. I will never do business with this company again.

I feel better insuring my cruise, cuz you just never know when something will happen, and it's a lot of money not to cover it, for just a small amount, I had peace of mind!!! And I will be insuring future cruises to!

We had to cancel our trip to England when my wife was required to stay for a work audit. Once I submitted the claim we promptly received our payment in about 2 and a half weeks. I couldn't be happier with the World Trips Atlas Journey Preferred plan and I would highly recommend it to anyone!
