I did not have to make any claims, but piece of mind, knowing I had. I had same plan in June 2023, and had to make claims, everything covered well. Is why I chose this plan again.

This place is a total scam. You sell policies based on comparison summaries, which grossly mischaracterize the coverage. For instance, apparently cancelled flights are only covered if the destination airport ceases ALL operations for 48 Hours. WHEN IN MODERN HISTORY HAS THAT EVER HAPPENED? Of course that is not what people think when they read your summary that says "we'll cover your cancelled flight". Total scam. TBD if we file a complaint with our state insurance board.

My plan clearly stated that it covers additional travel expenses incurred if there is a delay or cancellation but somehow my insurance processor does not acknowledge that when your flight is diverted into an alternate airport 3 hours from my original destination, that same day last minute car rentals are inherently more expensive then what your pre booked car rental into your planned destination airport will be. And the system of not having access to someone is lousy. I have to call them to request a call back. Hard pass on John Hancock policies on my next trip.
