Property Damage Liability

If You rent or are otherwise booked to stay in an apartment, condominium or other vacation or timeshare residential unit during Your Trip, We will reimburse You, up to the Maximum Benefit Amount shown in the Schedule of Benefits, for Your liability for damage to any such unit or its contents, subject to the following:

1. the damage to any such unit or its contents must be caused by an accident beyond Your control that occurs during Your occupancy of the unit on Your Trip;

2. this benefit applies only to any liability or obligation You expressly assume under a written agreement for the rental or use of any such unit by You during Your Trip, provided the agreement is executed by You prior to Your occupancy of the unit;

3. the owner, lessor, or legal representative of any such unit has made formal written demand to You for loss or damage to such unit or its contents; and

4. You are adjudged or determined to be responsible for the loss or damage to any such unit.

Property and Contents Not Covered:

motor homes, recreational vehicles (RVs), trailers, campers, boats or other watercraft, any other vehicles or conveyances whether motorized or not, hotel rooms or suites, motel rooms or suites, or similar lodging rooms or suites.

We will not pay any benefits for losses caused by or arising from:

1. an act or activity of You, a Traveling Companion or a Family Member traveling with You during the Trip that is in violation of the written agreement for the rental or use of any such unit;

2. any loss or damage to any other property that is not the unit or its contents as a result of a covered loss;

3. any loss or damage arising from pets or other animals accompanying You, a Traveling Companion or a Family Member traveling with You during Your Trip outside of the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.
