Wish there was a way to determine the overall health and general physical condition of people purchasing travel insurance instead of just age. Being frequent travelers, we have seen people on our trips who could barely walk up a flight of stairs. Even though we are "older"....68 and 74....we are very physically active and in good shape (knock on wood) and would have to have a very serious incident to ever cancel a trip. Does past claims ever come into consideration when determining rates or is an individual history too complicated?

Unfortunately, insurance providers are not able to take your individual medical history or your past claim history into account to determine the cost of travel insurance. Everything was according to stated coverage. The four stars on claim promptness is really an open item. While the claim was processed quickly and payout on part of the claim was timely, part of the claim required additional justification. That has been submitted and a responce is pending. If handled as efficiently as the rest of the claim, that catagory would rise to five stars.

They even supply a wallet insurance card to carry, also have electronic copy of what is covered. It is piece of mine knowing the family is protected from the unlikely event for this coverage. Having the coverage makes the ski trip that much more enjoyable.
