Long hold times on the phone for emergency line.

Received inaccurate information from phone representative.

Inadequate coverage for our trip delay. Only broke even with the amount we paid for the insurance, leaving us several hundred dollars out of pocket.

    Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company (“BHSIC”) is the underwriter and claim administrator for the policy you purchased. Travelex Insurance does not make claim determinations; however, we have escalated your concerns to BHSIC, and we have been advised that your claim is in the que to be processed. To clarify your comment on Travel Delay, you are eligible up to the maximum benefit amount, which is per day and per person.



    It is important to remember that insurance is highly regulated, and all claims are determined based on the required documentation submitted and the policy details for the policy you purchased.

Unfortunately, had to cancel a long-awaited hiking trip in the Rockies because of a health issue. Our claim (accompanied by my doctor’s statement) was processed quickly and covered the amounts we would have otherwise lost.

The Travelex claims website required that I file a claim to get copies of the doctor’s form and then had to start all over again once the doctor completed the form. It would been easier initially to go to a page setup up for downloading forms.

With the necessary forms in hand, filing online was fairly easy and the claim was approved within two weeks.

I was pleased with the ability to purchase on-line and how well the process worked when I needed to file a claim. It was easy to contact a real person when I had questions. The customer service was efficient and accurate. The email explaining the analysis and reasons for part of my claim not being covered was easy to understand and thorough. A great experience of how on-line and non-local transactions should work. Thank you.

I had an awesome experience with Travelex Insurance. I actually needed to move my trip because my husband was unable to get off for Christmas so the only thing the company needed from him was a letter from his boss saying that he was not giving him Christmas off due to operational needs. I submitted this to them as well as proof of purchase of my trip on my credit card and they refunded me the entire trip. Sent it straight to my paypal account. I used that money to book the trip for thanksgiving instead. The company is easy to deal with and I just purchased travel insurance again for my trip to UAE!

The only issue I had was setting up the claim. My father in-law passed away. The customer service agent wanted me to file the claim for an illness, which requires doctors to provide information. I thought that was odd for the situation. I spoke to a second customer service representative and they said to just send in the death certificate.
