We were part of the Southwest airline debacle and ended up having to rent a car and drive 16 hours to make our cruise. This insurance was essentially useless for that purpose. We called ahead and got zero help. Nothing is guaranteed until you file a claim. Nothing is covered until you leave your house the day of your travel. It was a total waste of money. Not sure what is actually covered.

I thankfully didn't need to use the insurance for my trip, but I've always felt the Nationwide Choice Cruise plan is a nice, comprehensive plan at a competitive price point. If I had purchased it earlier I would have been able to use the itinerary change feature as a cruise port was changed after I booked my cruise, but before I purchased the insurance. I'll know for next time to buy the insurance when I make my initial cruise payment.

Had a foot injury while on shore on a cruise and had to see the ship doctor. The medical claim was submitted and I received reimbursement for the claim promptly.
