I felt I had the coverage I needed, even though I did not make a claim. Traveled with peace of mind. Second time I've used this company for recent travel. Again, no comment on claims since I've never made one, but the process of acquiring coverage was simple and straitforward.

HCC's customer service representatives were very ignorant regarding the terms of the plan, and the associated clinics and hospitals abroad. They gave me wrong information, and were unsupportive when I was sick while traveling. Claiming was a terrible, long hassle that only got better once InsureMyTrip got involved and helped me out.
The worst part was when they finally reimbursed the claim they sent it as a check to my permanent residence, which is in the United States. So I was traveling, flat broke and unable to access the money I had to spend that I wasn't supposed to have had to spend in the first place. This insurance was a nightmare. InsureMyTrip is amazing and I love their customer service, but using HCC was a truly dissatisfying experience.

The principal reason I bought this insurance was to satisfy a Swiss visa requirement. Based on other reviews it appeared to be the best choice, and the purchase process was painless, but I didn't expect to get any money from it and I didn't. We had several medical bills totaling a few hundred euros, which was below the policy deductible so I have no idea if the company would have paid. The paperwork provided by the foreign doctors was so different from its U.S. equivalent that I can envision big arguments about reimbursement, so I'm just as happy not to have had to file a claim.

I did not have need to file any claims with the plan, so I cannot rate this part of the service. But I thought the value was very good for the coverage. I will use again on my next trip.
