My trip needed to be cancelled which should have been covered under the "cancel for any reason" provision that I paid for. I submitted all of the documents asked for and received a response that they were received. It's 2 months later and finally a settlement. The coverage may be OK for the price, but the customer service is very poor. Think twice about purchasing this plan.

I was going on my "trip of a lifetime" to India and I was concerned about a trip delay or illness causing a disruption in the trip. As it turns out, my health was fine, but just getting to India took two extra days (weather and and equipment maintenance). I missed two important days of my tour but the plan actually paid out after I sent in all the supporting documents. I was pleased with the ease of submitting and fast payout.

We were impressed with the ease of filing a claim and the timely response that we received. This was the first time that we had been unfortunate in our travels. We were able to make a call with ease from India to customer service to confirm coverage and assurance that we were covered. The peace of mind allowed us to continue our travels without worrying. Insure My Trip is a fabulous source for travel insurance. I’ve been using them for 20+ years.

We had to cancel because his doctors did not want him to fly. The claim was easy to fill out and the customer service representatives were polite and helpful. We had our refunds within a month.

Fortunately I did not have to use the insurance on my trip so cannot really evaluate it other than to say that the plan cost was reasonable compared to other similar plans.

I guess the best case scenario is that we didn't need to use it, and that's where we stand. My daughter did come back from India very sick, but it was good to know that if she had needed the coverage (got sick earlier, while she was still in India), then she had good coverage. Some of the other students in her group did get sick enough to be medically evacuated. The policy didn't cost that much, and I'm glad that we had the peace of mind.
