The plans are easy to review and purchase on line. When I called with questions, the staff at InsureMyTrip were very helpful. We did not make a claim, so I cannot comment on that part. I will use InsureMyTrip again.

We were very satisfied with the help and explanations that we received during the process of choosing the insurance and buying it. Calls were answered quickly; we never had to hold on line or wait for a callback. Fortunately, we didn’t need the insurance.

The plan provided not only for the Cancellation and Trip Delay and Interruption but more importantly High coverage for Medical Treatment and Medical Evacuation which could cost in the Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars. The Cancellation amount of coverage is only the dollar value that a traveler has already determined they can afford.

Unfortunately, we were not able to go on our trip to Portugal. I called to cancel the insurance in March, for our trip in September, and was told since I had not purchased the “cancel for any reason†insurance i was not entitled to any refund. I felt a refund should have been prorated. Oh well, I guess it’s my fault for not reading the restrictions more carefully. I don’t fault the insurance company.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the iTravelinsured SE policy. Although we did not meet your expectations, we would like to provide a further explanation to your fellow travelers. Back in March 2018, you requested information on canceling your policy. Since you were outside the "10 Day Review Period", iTravelinsured would not refund your premium but did offer you a voucher for a new trip.
"If the Insured is not completely satisfied with the insurance, he or she must notify the Company within 10 days of purchase and return the certificate. The Company will give the Insured a full refund of premium provided he or she has not already departed on the Covered Trip or filed a claim."
Apparently, you also considered canceling your trip and submitting a Trip Cancellation claim but were then advised that you did not have a covered reason as listed in your policy. The specific concern which caused you to cancel your trip would fall under the Cancel For Any Reason option. Sadly, your policy did not include this coverage.

Never used it, but did injure my knee and was unable to contact them on their 24 hour/Emergency Assistance Line. We tried a couple of times; we connected but the phone just rang and rang. It was about 6:30AM EST when we tried to call. Luckily we were staying in an AirBnB apartment and our host was able to direct us to a hospital ER room. We had to cancel our trip and make new flight arrangements home. I am following up with care here in the States, but if it would have been more serious, I am not very happy that we could not get any response. So not sure what we paid for. We have bought medical insurance through this website for over 12 years- typically 3 times a year. Never needed it, but not sure we will use it again since it seems we are paying for nothing.

James it was a pleasure speaking with you on the phone today. I can assure you I will look into this further for you. IMG currently has several redundant backup systems in place.
