Thankfully I have never had to use the policies and do feel that I was able to get exactly what I was looking for. I will use for future trips, I just wish it wasn't so expensive.

Not the cheapest, but a national well-known name and customized for cruise vacations. We purchased the cruise care Nationwide policy, which we have purchased in the past for other cruises. However, this time the trip was rerouted right before we left. We filed the claim for itinerary change. It was all filed electronically, with an automated response. We didn't hear anything regarding the claim for weeks, so wasn't sure what the status was, which I did not like. But in a few weeks, we received compensation that was exactly as stated in the policy. Other than the lack of status updates, we are very pleased with this policy - will definitely purchase again!

    We are pleased to hear that you received reimbursement under Itinerary Change - Port of Call Change - Prior to Departure 1,250 USD per person. Unique to the Cruise plans in some states, Nationwide offers reimbursement as indicated below:

    "ITINERARY CHANGE"

    "In the event a Cruise makes a Change in Your Trip Itinerary prior to Your actual departure date we will pay up to the Maximum Benefit shown on the Confirmation of Coverage.

    Change in Your Trip Itinerary shall mean the Cruise has a documented change of Port of Call from the scheduled itinerary.

    Verification by the Cruise of the change in the scheduled Trip Itinerary will be necessary for claim payment."

I had this plan at one star because I thought I was not going to get anything for my claim. After a few weeks and insuremytrip stepping in I was able to find out part of my claim was approved. They need to work on communication!

We had to cancel our trip due to my husbands illness. It took them about 4 weeks after we got the paperwork to them for us to get money back. Very happy with everyone I talked to with questions..

A reasonable priced plan, but it pays only after any other insurance one might have has paid for many of the covered expenses-this is a secondary coverage plan for the most part.
