Having insurance for a month-long trip to Europe for four, including flights and two cruises, put my mind at ease. Fortunately we didn't need it. Our granddaughter landed in NICU right before our trip, and although I purchased comprehensive coverage, I didn't realize it didn't include "Cancel for any reason." That was my oversight, but our granddaughter was discharged before the trip (and is back to good health) so we didn't have to cancel our plans. Next time I'll be a more savvy shopper.

Unfortunately I did have an incident where I had to contact the insurance upon my arrival in Italy. Their response was immediate and made me feel that I had resources available to me. I could not have asked for better service or a more helpful response as well as prompt handling of my claim once received.

This was the first time I purchased trip insurance, but with planning a 3 week European trip with a friend, I thought it was prudent to do so. It provided piece of mind if one or both of us got sick and could not complete the trip. The cost was reasonable, and the benefits were good. I did not need to file a claim, the trip went well.

It seems that you are penalized for being older. I'm 71 and had to pay twice the amount for my plan as did my 44 year old daughter. And this was true for all the insurance companies that I contacted. General Global Assistance had the most reasonable price. The plan offered coverage for all that I needed for a 9 day European Vacation. Thank goodness I didn't have to use it as all went well.

Thank you for your review. The premiums of the policies are determined by the insurance providers. The premiums are based on the age of the travelers, the length of the trip and the cost of the trip. This was the first time I took out trip insurance--so I was winging it. I did compare several companies and their offerings. Yours seemed reasonable and straight forward. I did call customer service and they answered my questions -- eased my concerns. Did not need to file any claims as the Trip was pretty un-eventful from an issue perspective. The Trip, however, was awesome... Thank you...

Thank G-d I didn’t need to use it but on my last trip I got sick and missed a day. And was seen by a doctor. Generali compensated me for the loss of the day and my medical bills. That’s why I used them again

My wife became ill while in Croatia. She visited a shipboard medical and received some medications at a modest cost. A later visit would have required a significant cost should she have chosen to pursue further treatment. The cost was not a factor affecting her decision because it would have been fully covered by the insurance coverage we had purchased. My wife declined further treatment as we decided to wait until our voyage terminated. Peace of mind is a great thing to have.
