While Generali ultimately paid, they created many unnecessary obstacles and made the process long and complicated. They made me submit one expense 4 times before paying. They gave me incorrect info about what I could collect for making it seem almost impossible to collect the dominant expense, before another rep told me the truth. My rep gave me an unworking phone number in case I wanted to reach her. After paying me for some expenses, they said they had to pay me half and my wife the rest, but two months after paying me my wife hadn't received her half and they finally paid me. WARNING: IN READING REVIEWS NOTE THAT ALMOST ALL REVIEWERS DID NOT MAKE A CLAIM AND FILE POSITIVE REVIEWS, WHILE REVIEWS FROM THOSE MAKING CLAIMS ARE MUCH MORE NEGATIVE.

My husband was diagnosed with cancer several weeks before our trip and his treatments required us to cancel. Though we had to gather and send several documents, the claim process was fairly straightforward on line. When I had questions, responses were prompt and clear. Our trip costs were refunded fully. This was the first time I'd ever purchased trip insurance and I'm very glad I did.

Unfortunately, my wife's father passed away two days before we were scheduled to leave on our Norway vacation. Fortunately we insured our trip with Generali Global Assistance and once we gathered and submitted the necessary paper work, we were reimbursed for our monetary loss within a month. We went on our trip in September and made the claim after we returned, we have yet to have a settlement, much less much contact regarding the claim.
Now the claim has been closed and they are not re-reimbursing as originally told I would be.
I believe it is because of my original complaint about how long it took to even contact me back regarding the claim to begin with. Do not use this company!

Thank you for your feedback on your CSA Custom policy. We were sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the denial of your baggage claim.
Although we did assign an Anytime Advocate to assist you on the denial of your baggage loss, there was nothing he could do because of the police report that was submitted with your claim. Unfortunately that official documentation superseded any word of mouth statement, so your claim was denied.
It took a little while getting the required documentation for the claim, but I have received a check for the full claim amount. So they kept their end of the bargain with no undo problems.

Our plane to Norway was diverted to Stockholm due to a snowstorm, with the result that we missed our connecting flight to Bergen, and we had to spend the night in the Oslo airport. Because we were unable to get to Bergen, we lost the cost of the hotel we had reserved in Bergen. CSA processed our claim in one day and reimbursed us for the hotel, plus breakfast in the Oslo airport. We were very satisfied with the expeditious service received.
