We didn't use the plan but knowing I had it was peace of mind. One of my family members suffered a fall during the trip and almost had to go to the hospital, and it didn't freak us out knowing it would be covered. Luckily it wasn't necessary and we could go on with no further problems.
We contacted the plan regarding it and the information we received was kind of generic, no specific place or doctor to contact, what is good in an aspect (you free to chose) but considering you are in another country, language, etc. we felt a little "abandoned". It would have been great to talk to someone in the country we were and having some "inside" instructions of what would be the best course of action.
All in all I will use it again, now knowing the limitations what will make me get better informed prior to travel.

Fortunate to not need to use the coverage. This plan has some very nice features and options which I believe are useful to many for no additional cost. Like cancel for any reason up to 48 hours before you leave. I would use them again.

Given the potential secondary ramifications of the Thomas Cook failure on the eve of my departure, the InsureMyTrip plan offered additional coverage and security. My tour company subscribed to UK ATOL (insurance protection for group tours transit) but I feared that insurance fund would be depleted by the Cook failure. I have no idea how to prepare for future BREXIT risks and would like to see separate offers to address this.

There are typically 3 conditions that must be met to purchase a Cancel For Any Reason Rider: Purchase the policy within 10 - 21 days of First Trip Payment; Insure ALL prepaid and non-refundable travel expenses prior to departure; Trip arrangements must be canceled more than 48 -72 hours prior to the departure date. If you meet all 3 of these conditions, this benefit will typically reimburse you 75% of your trip cost, unless otherwise noted.

While on vacation in Italy my travel partner came down with a hemorrhaging bladder infection. We called the number for coverage and got a recording, we weren’t impressed, but thought someone would call back in at least an hour. We didn’t hear from anyone until the next day and we had already taken care of the problem by other means. I’m just glad it wasn’t a more serious problem. Completely dissatisfied with this company.

After purchase, IMG emails a purchase confirmation which can be printed and carried with you on the trip. The purchase confirmation includes the 24 hour emergency contact information. Fortunately, we did not need the insurance but I felt very secure knowing that I would be covered for any emergency. We’ve used this before a few years ago when filing a claim and were very satisfied.
