It’s good that there was no need to file a claim, which makes it difficult to rate the policy. We budgeted the policy into our planned spend, so yes affordable, but I suppose it can always cost less. I’m glad we had the coverage, and also glad it was not necessary to file a claim.

I had to make a trip delay claim due to Hurricane Irma stranding me in DC for a few days. All of my meal and lodging expenses were covered (I stayed within the limit fairly easily) and Nationwide was actually really fast in providing payment. It was the airline that took the longest just to get me a travel delay letter (no surprise there). I'd recommend this plan, it paid for itself.
