The plan was easy to purchase and at a more reasonable rate than others I checked. Since I didn't file any claims, I can't comment on how satisfied I might have been with that part of it.

I had this plan at one star because I thought I was not going to get anything for my claim. After a few weeks and insuremytrip stepping in I was able to find out part of my claim was approved. They need to work on communication!

I would never travel without travel insurance again. It is just worth the peace of mind knowing it is there. Insure My Trip has many options to customize insurance to your specific needs. A woman was injured on my cruise (broken leg) and transported to a hospital while we were at a Port, my first thought was, "oooh I hope she has travel insurance" .

Although we were not in need of this coverage (thankfully), we were on a cruise that had to stop not once, but TWICE to evacuate other passengers for emergency medical care. The first happened on the first night of the cruise where we had to detour to Nassau where the person was taken off the cruise and into the care of medical personnel on shore, and the second was a detour to San Juan Puerto Rico where a person was taken by water taxi. We were lucky that we were not one of these two passengers (or their families), and must admit that although we were hoping they were ok, we were also hoping that they had good insurance coverage because the cost to take them ashore for medical care as well as get them home was going to be astronomical.

First time purchasing insurance outside of the cruise line. After reading so many positive reviews about this particular policy, decided to try it. It provided better coverage than the cruise line with a lower rate. Since this was a 14-day cruise, we wanted to insure more protection to cover incase of an emergency. Totally satisfied and will purchase from now on.
