We had to file a claim because of a trip interruption due to the global tech glitch that happened on July 19. Our flight was cancelled. Took about 6 weeks but our claim was honored.

fortunately I did not need to use the coverage; however it cost more than any trip I have ever taken. I felt that the insurance plan was WAY too expensive.

We regularly review our pricing and pride ourselves on having some of the highest benefit limits for the coverages travelers need most. In situations like travel delay and missed connection, the extra dollars can make a big difference. We recommend checking the other plans to ensure they offer things like companion hospitality expenses in case of emergency hospitalization and a sufficient emergency dental coverage."
From filing claim to receiving check over 4 months. Don’t know if that is good or bad based on the average time for this industry but felt rather long to us.

We tried to claim a medical evacuation when my wife was ill in Italy.It took some time to get this approved and many expensive international calls between their office in Florida and Italy , not to mention the problems with time zones.All this while my wife lay ill in Italy.
After our return, it took many weeks to get any action on our out of pocket expenses, and to receive some of them.Calls to their claims office went unanswered , and voice messages were also left unanswered. Eventually we recovered some our expenses after months.
We have used Gabrieli many times over the years, but like the saying “ you only see how good the company is when you have to make a claim”.
