For a quick trip (business and personal), this was an excellent value and worth the piece of mind. Fortunately, we didn't have to file a claim. But the return flight was touch and go for a while, and had we been delayed overnight (which would have been a REAL issue for me), it was nice to know the delay was covered.

I felt that this policy with Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection provided me and my family with the most cost effective coverage options at the best price. We did not, thankfully, file a claim for a loss, however, the plan seemed quite comprehensive for what my family needed.

Had to cancel our family trip due to illness. Filed the requested documents with BH and there was absolutely no hassle in receiving the requested non-refundable expenditures. Their process was straightforward and their response was timely. I've never purchased trip insurance before and therefore have never filed a claim so I don't know if it's always this simple but these guys performed as advertised. I would highly recommend them.

Wish they had different insurance coverage for a trip by car. There are too many items which don’t apply for our car vacation. Less options may be able to reduce the price for one’s trip. It’s great to know your trip is insured.

    No matter how you are traveling, if any of your trip has prepaid, non-refundable components, you should consider a Comprehensive plan for road trip travel insurance. You will want driveway-to-driveway coverage which starts the minute you leave your driveway and not the day you check in to your hotel including coverage in the event of road trip delays that you don't expect especially if you are traveling to a remote area which may only be accessible by one road. We also suggest that you check with your health insurance provider to see how your coverage would work when you are traveling outside your home town.

    Please note that not all Comprehensive plans provide the appropriate coverage for road travel insurance. Since coverage does vary between plans, we recommend that you call us at 800-487-4722 for guidance in selecting and purchasing the appropriate plan.
