It's been almost 3 months and all travel mate, the administrator, does is find excuses and tiny technicalities that do not appear to be based in the contractual requirements to not pay the claim. Very unsatisfied. Update - I finally got a check on my claim in August, after the intervention of the travel mate ombudsperson.

Sorry for slow review. We had to cancel this trip due to a family medical issue. We got InsureMyTrip.com involved to assist us in getting the Insurance Company to address our claim after It seemed to stall. You guys were successful in resolving our claim within a short time after you were contacted. Thank you!

I had a fairly simple claim for medical services rendered by the Medical Center on the cruise ship. The claim process required downloading several documents which I thought the insurance company should have had, e.g. proof of payment of the premium. After downloading all the requested documents, I was informed the processing time would be 20-25 days. The actual time from submission of claim to receipt of payment was 45 days. I would give this company a grade of B to B+.

Review process was slow and they found a creative reason not to cover a change fee. So I got most of the claim paid but not 100%.

Got advise to use this site and really happy I took it. I had to call to get help cause it was my first travel overseas and I was giving 4 option I could choose according to my needs. All process took the most 5 minutes. Great customer service !!

So after several cruises over the course of 15 years, we finally had to visit the ship doctor. My husband was coughing uncontrollably and didn't feel well (but no fever). The ship doctor thought it was the flu even though it did not test positive for flu. He was prescribed Tamaflu and something for the cough. He was not quarantined but he self quarantined for a couple of days, when he was feeling much better.

As soon as we returned on 3/20, we submitted the $244 bill to Travel Safe. I was very careful to include all the documentation they asked for, including the original cruise invoice, the doctors bill, our list of onboard charges from the cruise line, copiy of his passport (?). - luckily I am fairly meticulous about keeping copies of things in film so I could quickly get these together.

It was a small claim and pretty straightforward, so I was hoping there would be no more hoops to jump through. I submitted on 3/20 and we just got the check today on 5/12. No problem other than the length of time involved, almost 8 weeks. I would use them again, just be aware that you have to wait for their processing.

A plan is only as good as how it responds to claims filed. My claim was received on 3/6, yet no action was taken to process it until I had made 2 phone calls (3/27 & 3/31). Then it took more phone calls and another 3 weeks until I received claim payment. Whenever I called, I waited at least 10 minutes to speak with a representative from Tripmate, the claims administrator. Their message was always the same "due to higher than expected call volume...". The call volume wouldn't be higher than expected if claims had been processed in a timely fashion.
Now, before I purchase travel insurance, I ask who the claims administrator is & have eliminated any companies that use Tripmate.

My expenses were associated with traveling companion's illness while on trip. We both had insurance but with different carriers as we live in different states. When I first called TravelSafe, I was told I would have to submit claim through traveling companion's insurance. It took 3 months and a lot of paperwork to be told I would get nothing from them as I was not insured with them. TravelSafe should have known this and not held me up and caused a lot of inconvenience by requiring this. Other company should have informed me I would not be covered for anything with them instead of having me submit mountains of paperwork over 3 months also. This situation caused my dissatisfaction with both companies. Insuremytrip should have been aware of this also as both insurances were purchased thru them.

Excellent coverage for the value. I recently had to file a medical claim - The process was relatively simple and the claim was paid in a few weeks. Easy Peasy. My only complaint is that the "online" claim process is just filling out a form, which you still have to print and snail mail with copies of documentation. But in the bigger scheme of things, it was not that big of a deal.
