After waiting 10 weeks for a response.....our claim was denied. Apparently terminating the trip early due to a worldwide pandemic and borders closing down was not a good reason. Warren Buffet should be ashamed of himself!!! No matter how I justified our claim the rep said a pandemic is not included in any of their policies.
I'll be sure to find insurance elsewhere for our next vacation.

Please note that Travelex Insurance Services, Inc. is the marketer of the travel insurance plans and does not make any claim determinations. Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company (“BHSIC”) is the underwriter and the Claim Administrator for all claim or appeal related inquires.
In the policy details, which were sent to you on August 31, 2019 when the policy was purchased, it explains all the eligible reasons for trip cancellation, including the terms, limitations, and exclusions. Which includes the General Exclusion “(d) any government regulation or prohibition”.
Having said the above, we do empathize and recognize that coronavirus has created a difficult situation for travelers.
We recommend talking to your Traveler Suppliers about transferring any monies paid to a new trip. Additionally, it may be possible to obtain a Date Transfer on your policy, which allows you to apply the plan to another trip, in the future. If you would like to apply a One-Time Date Transfer to your policy, please contact us at [email protected], so we can help process the cancellation of your claim and apply a One-Time Date Transfer to your policy.
It is important to remember that insurance is highly regulated. Claims need to be processed according to the policy details and based on the documentation submitted to the Claim Administrator.
If you believe all or any part of your claim was wrongfully rejected or denied, you have the right to have your claim re-reviewed by BHSIC, if you are able to submit additional documentation. Update: After waiting for nearly two months I was contacted by email saying they've now processed our claims and the checks are in the mail.They are covering the portions of the trip that we insured and reasonable coverage was provided; however, the customer service was non existent and super slow to respond. ***Submitted a claim for Coronavirus ( Cancel for any reason). No response, never contacted by an adjuster. Can’t reach anyone in claims. I’m sure they’re swamped with claims but it’s been almost a week with zero contact. I wouldn’t purchase this policy or work with TravelEx in the future. Poor customer service.

I am still in Denmark. Was unable to go home as SAS cancelled all flights the 13th as I was suppose to leave the 16th. My new return SAS flight from DK to SF/CA is now sceduled for the 19th of April 2020 .
I have some medical bills from my stay here which I have not yet submitted as well as a rebooking fee with SAS
I do not have a phone here but will call you after my return to the US

I was pleased with the ability to purchase on-line and how well the process worked when I needed to file a claim. It was easy to contact a real person when I had questions. The customer service was efficient and accurate. The email explaining the analysis and reasons for part of my claim not being covered was easy to understand and thorough. Due to coronavirus airline cancelled our tickets to Italy, so we lost excursions and train tickets. Called the insurance company, explained the situation, girl was very snotty and rude, no help whatsoever!!!
