Comprehensive policies, a different type of travel insurance, typically require customers meet specific criteria in order to waive the pre-existing conditions exclusion. These conditions are generally:
1) Purchase the policy within 10 to 30 days of making your initial trip payment.
2) Insure 100% of the prepaid and non-refundable travel related expenses prior to your departure date.
3) Be medically fit to travel the day you purchase the policy.
