Main plus was being able to get a plan with only medical since I don't really care about the other options... and you were the only one I found. I guess still grateful I didn't need it.

Thank you for your review. In the US you may present your medical identification card to your physician or other health provider who would require minimal, if any, payment up front. However, travel medical insurance is different. First of all, Tokio Marine HCC is not Primary coverage which would pay FIRST before any other collectible insurance. It is Secondary coverage that would reimburse you only after any other Primary collectible insurance has paid the claim and the Primary policies' limits have been exhausted. There is also a Pre-existing Condition exclusion with a 2 year look back period that must be reviewed before Tokio Marine HCC would pay their share of your claim.
We regret that you were disappointed in the handling of your claim. However, it is important that travelers understand that along with the coverage that your travel medical plan provides, there are also limitations which may be reviewed prior to purchasing your policy.

We were advised that you did contact the claims department on January 20th, 2018 to find out the extent of coverage under this policy after your friend became ill. Unfortunately, you purchased a single trip medical plan with no coverage under Trip Interruption for your prepaid nonrefundable travel expenses even if you decided to return home early. In addition, the medical condition that you noted as being the reason for a claim is a standard exclusion in all travel insurance plans. Although we certainly understand your disappointment, Tokio Marine can only reimburse you within the terms and limitations of your policy.
Perhaps you will decide to purchase another plan for your next trip. We encourage you to call us for assistance and a detailed explanation of coverage prior to purchasing a plan.
This plan looked to be very desirable however I did not use it, I actually could have benefited by going for medical attention. My leg hurt and swelled, holding fluid, they were painful and stopped me from doing some things. We had no time for me to seek any medical asisstance. I certainly would refer others to you, I think your rates were good and if my health would have been unbearable to handle, I feel that your company would have been the answer to my problem. Fortunately, I did not need to use the coverage offered by the policy. As the trip went on, I felt well protected, which was a comforting Relief. It was an extreme pleasure to recieve assistance from, and purchase with your customer service representative.
