Travel Insurance Reviews for Travelex Travel Basic

Frankly, I was surprised at the ease with which I made my claim. Initially, they sent me an email with forms to fill out, which they then mailed to me (go figure) but it looked like another trip I had taken, so I didn't send them back. Still received my check for illness on a foreign cruise! I'm very happy.

Had to file a claim, very smooth and got my money back within two weeks. Amazing company

We were involved in a car accident in Costa Rica (minor damages to vehicle). After supplying the necessary paperwork the claim was promptly paid.

I was hurt in Hawaii and I wanted to call and find out what the procedure to follow was since I have never had to use the insurance in the past. It was very difficult because of the time difference. They closed at 5:00 Eastern time.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CRAP INSURANCE. This is the third plan we have purchased through this garbage scow of a company and the first claim we've filed. It's perfect for those who want a false sense of security that their trip is insured. This junk plan is not worth the paper it's printed on. We filed a legitimate claim that was denied. Fairly priced, but worthless if claims are not fairly paid out. Total waste of money, time and effort.

Our claim was handled promptly and efficiently. It doesn't get any better than that.

I was frankly shocked given my past experience w/ travel insurance how quickly I received a check for the full amount I was due, no hassle at all. Granted it was a small amount because my personal health insurance covered part of it, but still.

Travelex lived up to its promises. They handled the claim quickly, and the customer reps were always very courteous. I'll use them again.

Unfortunately had to file a claim due to snow storm on the east coast (all airports closed). Despite the problems, travelex did not compound them, easy to deal with (2 phone calls and a claim form). Refreshing to have a company do what they promise.

We had a trip/flight delay due to a snowstorm. Plan representatives were all very helpful with information on how to file claim. Only mild complaint I have is that I got no updates on processing of the complaint. It took a few weeks, but claim was fully accepted without issue.
