I filed a claim on 27 July 2017 but did not receive payment until 2 October 2017. This long of a wait is absolutely ridiculous. And no hurricanes had hit as of 27 July, so that is no excuse.

We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.
I contacted April when I got locked out of my rental car to see if my policy covered locksmith services and did not receive any call back from the company. I later found out I did not have coverage for locksmiths on my policy but I would have appreciated a return phone call.

We had to cancel a 15-day Princess Cruises trip to Hawaii in October, 2016, just two days before sailing, because of a medical issue. The April Travel policy we had purchased reimbursed us for the out-of-pocket cruise fares very promptly (within a couple of weeks) and without any hassle. Fortunately, we had no other non-refundable costs. I will definitely use the April Travel Choice plan again if it is available the next time we plan a trip. One useful fact I learned from this experience was that the government taxes and port charges portion of a cruise fare ARE refundable when you cancel a cruise, so you may not need to insure these amounts.

The worse! took 4 months to find out that my claim was denied because my trip was cancelled 48 hrs prior and April insurance needs 72 hours to make the claim payable.

We had to cancel the vacation due to health problems. Claim filed with April on 11/17/15. No response as of 12/16/15. 1/12/16, claim settled. Would use April again, all things being equal.
