Nationwide Mutual Insurance
Choice Cruise
I would recommend this policy to others but with the following advice. If you make a claim online, keep in mind that the claim examiner assigned to you might not find your situation as straight forward as you think it is. There might be some back and forth -via email or phone call (on your part) about the documentation you submitted (e.g. an explanation in English for a receipt in Italian even though it's pretty obvious what it's for) or a request for more documentation than what you submitted (e.g. submitting not only receipts but credit card statements that match the receipts) .
It will all get worked out, but not overnight and maybe not as quickly as you think it should. I just received my settlement for a claim I initiated 5 weeks ago. I thought that was an acceptable outcome.
One last thing, pay attention to the Trip Delay max. The policy I bought had a daily max of $150. When I was pickpocketed the morning of my cruise and had to stay in Rome overnight to get an emergency passport, then fly to Majorca, Spain to meet up with my ship that would be docking the morning after, I incurred the cost of two nights in a hotel, train and taxi fares, a plane ticket, and the cost of replacing my passport. I was traveling off-season, so both the airfare and the hotel costs were minimal, but I still exceeded the daily limit for 3 days of Travel Delay by $158.00.

recommend this plan to a friend or relative.
