This was my second time buying John Hancock trip insurance via Insuremytrip.com. On our recent vacation in Thailand my girlfriend became ill which required seeing a doctor and modifying our travel arrangements. John Hancock couldn't have been easier to deal with. I spoke to them from Thailand and they immediately started the claims process. When we arrived back in the U.S. I submitted the paperwork via their online portal. At one point they did ask for additional documentation that I didn't realize was required but I completely understood why they needed it to verify the legitimacy of travel change fees. We received the check about a month after we started the claims process. I don't normally write online reviews but I wanted to make sure they receive the credit they deserve. When I purchase trip insurance i have a nagging worry that the company will find a way out of a claim but that absolutely wasn't the case here. I plan to use them again for a cruise this summer.

I liked this plan to cover 3 hours flight delay, but in my case I wanted insurance to cover meals when flight schedule changed. My flight changed earlier than original time , so that I missed a hotel breakfast and needed to purchase it out of my pocket. Both Air line and insurance did not cover this portion even this is not my fault.

I have purchased travel insurance from J. Hancock for trips taken outside the U.S,A. in at leas the last 10 years. The sales rep has always been courteous , polite, informative, efficient and professional. The cost has always been reasonable. I intend to insure with Hancock for all of my future foreign trips.

Although I did not file a claim, after doing a lot of research and speaking with helpful representatives at Insure My Trip and John Hancock, I believe I left with the best coverage for me and my circumstances and had great peace of mind after they answered all of my questions. I also felt that the coverage was reasonable for what I was getting. As best as I could tell, they had the shortest window for trip Interruption / delays. All of my expenses were for airfare, so this was an important thing to me. This is the second time I have used Insure My Trip and will most certainly use it again for my next one. One can easily compare coverages, and get very helpful support to clarify coverage language...once you've whittled down your choices.
