I am glad that I didn't have to use it, but this was a big expensive trip and if I couldn't have gone, or something happened, I was glad to have the option to get some of the money back.

Presenting the claim was complicated, with having to submit multiple layers of "proof" documents to the claims agent, even though the original information submitted was quite complete. Additionally, the process was very time consuming.

Claims processing is cumbersome. They ask for far more information than they need. I think their goal is to frustrate you into just giving up. I travel to Europe several times a year and always get travel insurance. The is our first and LAST time with John Hancock.

Price was reasonable and was the reason we chose the plan. We did not have any problems so can’t confirm how easy it would be to file a claim. We purchased the insurance so we had medical coverage while in Europe. No issues thankfully.
