I didn't need to file a claim on this trip but having trip insurance gave me peace of mind. It turns out that three people in my tour group who needed wheelchair assistance at the Frankfurt airport (for the return flight to the U.S.) missed the flight through no fault of their own. Thinking trip interruption would have covered the mess up caused by Frankfurt airport personnel.

Fortunately, we completed the trip and did not need to use the insurance. When we scheduled the river cruise in March 2022, this policy seemed to have the best coverage to meet our needs, and a competitive price.

Although we did not need to file a claim, it was reassuring to know we had coverage in the event something unforeseen came up. Having a contact number when traveling overseas brought a measure of security that was well worth the premium paid.

Thank you for your review. The premiums of the policies are determined by the insurance providers. The premiums are based on the age of the travelers, the length of the trip and the cost of the trip. As travelers get older, it can cause the premiums to increase. At this time, due to insurance laws, travel insurance cannot be discounted ore rebated. Like all other types of insurance, such as auto and home, once a policy has ended the policy is deemed used and premium nonrefundable, whether there was a claim filed or not. Within days of departing on our trip, we needed to change the dates on the plan and add 2 days. I made a call. They gave me an email address to write to. I received a response within 24 hours that the change was approved. NO CHARGE!

Had a missed connection on return trip from Europe to U.S. Filed claim and submitted receipts for hotel, meals, and taxi rides. John Hancock processed and reimburnsed all expenses in full, with ease, and promptly.
