Fortunately we didnt need to use it, but it felt comforting that we had coverage if something did happen.

Although we didn't have to file a claim on this trip, we have learned our lesson on the importance of trip insurance for overseas trips. We have had to utilize the services for insurance in the past and the experience with the carrier was superb. We would have lost a lot of money in medical services and cancelled reservations that were not refundable. We don't travel without it now.

Had to go back to them on the claim but everything was processed quickly. Would highly recommend insuremytrip.com. Have paid so much more for coverage in the past without the compare took. Will be using this again in the future!

AXA claims handling is terrible. I made a claim because the first leg of a three leg international journey was cancelled due to a winter storm. I had to rent a car to drive 300 miles to the next airport to catch the second leg of the trip. The airline's ticket refund was less than the cost of the rental car. I filed a claim with AXA for about $100--the amount the rental car charge exceeded the airline reimbursement.
I submitted the extensive documentation AXA required. After 6 weeks, AXA denied the claim with a nonsensical letter. I explained the claim again, and AXA requested additional documentation, which I provided. In response, AXA denied the claim again--this time insisting that my flight was cancelled 2-1/2 months before departure, not the night before departure. I threatened a small claims lawsuit and reported the matter to insuremytrip.com. After a few weeks, AXA requested (for the first time) a letter from the airline confirming the cancellation and the reason. I provided that documentation and my claim was finally accepted.

Nothing happened to me. So that good. Except I've got about $250. less than I have at the start and I didn't use any benefits. But what can ya do? I insured my trip and now I'm home safely. End of story.

It was good to know that, if we needed to use our plan, it was there. Overseas trips can be stressful enough when all goes well. If an unfortunate event occurs, it can be disastrous. We will keep this in mind for future trips.

This plan gave me such peace of mind. I wasn't sure, at first, whether or not to even purchase trip insurance. But when I realized how affordable it was, and how easy it was to settle a claim. I knew I had to buy it. I will do so, from AXA, for every trip I take, from now on.

Since we did not have use this plan it is very hard to evaluate. It seemed like what we needed for a price we could afford. Thank goodness we did not have to use it.
