my trip was delayed 1 day due to missed connection
i incurred out of pocket expenses and the baggage was let out in the rain causing some damage
the claims process ( total claim only about $300) was so tedious requiring uploading numerous documents that it was not worth my time and effort. Phone support was very vague. I get the distinct impression that travelguard is not really providing any insurance, not sure why i use them, no more!

All claims are fully adjudicated based on the coverage purchased and supporting documentation. Claims are fully reviewed for any coverage opportunities. The insurance gave me peace of mind. However we did not have any reason to make a claim, so it is not possible to evaluate the coverage or claims response. Will likely buy it again for another trip. After our initial purchase we extended our trip dates and bought additional coverage. There was a long wait time on the phone to get this accomplished. Our agent was very helpful. Hopefully more agents will be available for editing policies and addressing those types of issues.

We had our important documents stolen and we could not continue our trip. We were disappointed to learn that this was not covered by trip interruption or cancelation. We lost almost $1000 on hotel cancellation fees and received $0 for our insurance. Very disappointing and we’ll look for better alternatives in the future.

Comprehensive plans are designed to cover as many risks as possible, but is very rare for any insurance plan to cover all possible risks. These plans are named peril policies. That means that the event that causes your trip to be cancelled or interrupted must be a listed reason in your policy certificate.
