Our plane was canceled and it took two days for United to rebook us to Iceland. We had trip interruption. The policy paid for just one of us, at $3,579 a person. Don’t know why we didn’t get the money for two of us. Would not recommend. We used them when we travel, but never filed a claim. They were terrible.

Worst trip ever ... two day delay in departure, lost luggage, minor medical expenses due to flu ... Generali did a great job processing the claims and remuneration was quick. Would definitely use Generali again!

Our trip to Iceland was interrupted by a winter storm that caused a government mandated closure of the roads and prevented us from getting to our return flight. We had to reschedule for the next day at an additional charge. Generali denied what would seem to be obviously a trip interruption and/or delay using logic that defies common sense. They are not to be trusted to do the right thing. The fine print is more important than their concern for their customers.

Very disappointed in General Global Assistance and its deceptive marketing. We included and paid for "Cancel For Any Reason" except for a "listed covered event" in our coverage. We cancelled it per our own personal misgivings about Covid circumstances. While there were pandemic warnings about international travel, there were no restrictions about our travel.

This was misleading business, and we're very dissatisfied with the company's performance. Not only will we never use it again, it should be a warning to any members of the traveling public who may ever consider employing General Global Assistance.

My claim was small...just about $200 for a missed tour in Iceland due to illness. When I spoke with the CSA agent on the phone, I was made to feel discouraged. Supposedly I would need more medical documentation than what I did have. I went ahead and filed anyway and VOILA! The letter I had from the hotel person who called the EMT's for me and my own letter explaining things turned out to be adequate. I am very pleased.

I purchased the plan primarily for medical coverage, which thankfully I didn't need. However, it turned out we had a flat tire due to hitting a rock in the road, which the rental car company did not cover with the insurance we bought through them. Since this plan also had rental car coverage, I submitted the claim for the tire replacement. I expected some sort of hassle or denial since I didn't really understand what was covered, but had my check within two weeks of filing the claim. Very happy.

Generali Global Assistance Premium
On my most recent trip, I fell and ruptured by left quad tendon. CSA and its subsidiary were immensely helpful arranging for me to get back to the United States for surgery, including arranging for me to fly back business class, arranging for transportation to the airport in Iceland and transportation from the JFK terminal to where my car was parked. It was an impressive performance.
CSA also promptly settled my claim for reimbursement for the cost of the trip.

I was dissapointed in how long it took to process my claim. When I tried to call, I was made to feel like I was bothering them but when I called back a month later I found out my claim had been sitting on someone's desk.
