I visited California for two weeks from other country. Unfortunately, I cut my finger during the trip and had to go to a neighbourhood urgent care. I gave the receptionist the policy number, she made a call and confirmed that I only had to pay for a copay of $15. I received the medical care I needed and felt that I made a smart decision of purchasing a traveler medical insurance prior the trip. I highly recommend everyone purchasing a medical insurance when traveling to the US as medical expense there can really break the bank.

My wife goes home each year to Japan. Medicare stops on overseas trips, so this covers her in the event of an accident in Japan. We have, thankfully, never needed it, but it is there in case we do. It is, as the name implies, "insurance.'

Was unfortunate that I had to file a medical claim, the process took a little bit but overall was very smooth and was reimbursed for my doctor visit during my trip.

Did not need to use the insurance but it’s great peace of mind to know if anything happened while in a foreign country any medical care is covered. You never know if you trip, fall, break a leg, get sick, need stitches and so forth...it’s best to have insurance that is accepted in that country.

I purchased the plan for my parents visiting Japan for a week. Luckily they didn't have to file a claim, however, it's nice to have an insurance for emergency.

I couldn't try the efficiency of this insurance, since nothing happened on my trip. But something that caught my attention was the emails I received​ before travelling to check my data, which made me feel safe.

This was the only affordable plan I could find that covered pregnancy. However, I hope that HCC Medical Insurance Services decides to join the rest of the world in offering better coverage and services to (pregnant) women during their travels. This insurance was better than nothing, and luckily I didn't need it. But if I had gone into labor early, or needed other care for myself or my newborn, I would not have had the coverage necessary.
