I filed a claim for expenses incurred when a delayed connecting flight caused me to miss a transatlantic flight, resulting in an overnight stay. My expenses were somewhat unusual (visas, COVID testing) so I wasn't sure they would be covered but was happy to be fully reimbursed.

I have experienced baggage delay before on my international flights and it is nothing but a pain in the neck to get delayed, miss your travel plans because you have to wait for the luggage to arrive the next day and then you have to stick around to receive it for a window of 4 or 5 hours. I chose the insurance specifically for this reason and selected the best coverage for that option because I felt that I would at least be compensated for the baggage fees and missing a day of vacation. Sure enough, I needed to file a claim for that very reason. It was the easiest transaction, wrote an email, received an almost instant response, filled out the form and attached photos of all the documentation and boarding passes, and received my check in the mail a week later. Could not have gone smoother and somewhat made up for the hassle at the airport at midnight... very professional, quick, and uncomplicated company to deal with! Will use again on my next trip for sure!

Thank you for this 5 star review for your Generali Standard plan. Your comments reinforce one fact that cannot be stressed enough which is to save receipts and proof of expenses so that you can be accurately reimbursed whether it be costs due to a delay of baggage for the cost of reasonable additional clothing and personal articles, travel delay expenses for hotel or meal, or medical records for emergency treatment received. This is especially important as it can be incredibly difficult to get this paperwork once you have returned home. For filing a claim, nothing is more important than having accurate documentation for your loss.
Happily, we did not have any incidents for which filing a claim was necessary. We had a great experience a couple of years ago when we had a filing. But having the policy provided peace of mind and assurance that we would be protected if trouble arose. That peace was worth the price.

I have waited until a claim was settled. I thought the process was fair, though I had to repeat some information. The settlement was complete and thoroughly explained. My partner and I will certainly be repeat customers. He is already covered with an annual policy since he travels fairly often. I will be a repeater when my next opportunity arises. Mark us very satisfied.
