Had a cruise leaving from Lisbon in September 2024. The cruise line needed to change the departure to Malaga, Spain several weeks before the cruise due to a strike. I filed a claim for the increased cost to change my flight (itinerary change) at the last minute, but the change was "before the start date of the insurance", so it was not covered. It is a loophole in the insurance coverage for itinerary change, as it would not cover travel cost change regardless of the start date - it was only for costs associated with activities (tours).

Although the coverage was very good and I felt good about that part, the claim process was majorly frustrating. Too much to go into here. Even though the claims department says they will contact you ( either email or phone) they never do. If you contact customer service by phone they cannot tell you anything about your claim, only general information and that is not always the same information even though you are asking the same question.
My suggestion is, if you have or think you have a claim open up one immediately for your full amount in question then collect back-up info within the required timeframe. And then send in.
Be sure to open an account with them, because it is the only way to track your claim. You will never and I mean NEVER be contacted by them!

Our trip was cancelled. We have provided a great deal of documentation and information but IMG keeps asking for more and more and more - and they are difficult to deal with. Very slow and very, very poor responsiveness and service. Will NEVER buy through this company again. Will probably never receive any of my claims money.
Amended 11/27 - Still the worst I have ever experienced. PLEASE NOTE - the many 4 and 5 star reviews are from customers who NEVER HAD TO FILE A CLAIM. Why would you rate a company when all you did was pay the premium??? The reason for a company earning a 4 or 5 star rating should be for great trip insurance WHEN YOU DO NEED TO FILE A CLIAIM. IMG Medical is NOT that company.

I had a small amount of damage to my rental car in Italy.I submitted the claim and was denied as being my fault. I appealed twice and finally after 9 months they paid. It turns out they sent someone to the small town in Italy and determined that the narrow streets and my SUV size was a factor in the mishap so it was unavoidable. The appeal process was very frustrating but I was very impressed that they ruled in my favor. I was very surprised that they investigated it after so long. I will use them again in my European travels in the future

I insured my trip through International Medical Group, iTravelInsured.

We were going to be gone for a very long time and since one can not insure just part of the trip there were few companies that would take on the long vacation; iTravelInsured however would and did. I contracted COViD and consequently had to make a large claim since we missed a lot, lying in a hotel room trying to get better. In settling my claim they treated me very fairly; my settlement was larger than I expected due to benefits like 'travel delay' and 'trip interruption'.

Timeliness.... But from the time I submitted my claim to the day I received my check it was one day short of five months. Toward the end of that period I was questioning wether or not they were really going to issue me a check; I was starting to loose sleep, waking up thinking about what to do next. Consequently, have your eyes open if you go with IMG iTravelInsured, their good qualities outlined at the start of this review were drowned by the tartiness of the settlement process and final payment.

I booked a trip of August 12, 2019, at it was cancelled on June 23,2019. I still have not heard about the cancellation of my trip. I sent in the information on June 23, 2019, June 28, 2019, and July 17, 2019. It was for the cancellation of my trip at 75% of the costs I have maintained. I still have not heard any thing. I hope anyone who is booking a trip with them should think about someone else.

I guess this plan would cover the biggies, medic evac, medical emergency or if trip is cancelled for one of the covered reasons. I was denied coverage when our taxi failed to pick us up and we missed our bus for one leg of a 3 day excursion. I had to immediately hire a private car to get us to the second leg of trip.( $206) Claims denied because delay was not over 6 hrs. (I could not wait that long to make other arrangements) and because the taxi was not delayed because of terror, weather, etc. Just check to be sure you understand the limitations of the policy. Nice folks to work with otherwise.

Our flight on Wow Air was cancelled the night before our trip to Europe. And with their limited flights to our city, the next available flight was 8 days later, causing us to miss most of the planned trip. Therefore, we had to cancel our trip. We filed a claim for the nonrefundable hotels and tours. It took about two months to process, but they paid the full amount. I would recommend them as they bailed us out of thousands of dollars of loss.
