Thankfully, I never had to file a claim, but it was reassuring to know that I was covered in case something did go wrong. I arrived safely in Italy, my luggage however, decided to stay in Munich. I was staying with friends who were surprised by my lack of concern over my lost luggage. I explained that I had travel insurance and in the worst case scenario, I would have to buy new clothes. My luggage arrived three days later by courier. Italy was the trip of a lifetime! I will buy this insurance for my next trip as well!

I had a change in travel dates due to pulling out of a tour, so not only were my dates changed, but the amount of coverage I needed went way down due to now traveling on my own. I called Generali the week before I was to leave -- they changed the dates and refunded the difference between my original coverage and what my new coverage was. The change and refund was same day. I was very impressed with their responsiveness and will certainly use them again the next trip I take.

This policy gave my wife and me peace of mind during our recent international trip to Italy. Traveling in these Covid times with numerous bureaucratic tests, retests, mandatory forms, countless inspections, tight border controls, etc. is HIGHLY STRESSFUL. While the insurance coverage gave us some peace of mind during this trip, we now question why we even bother with international travel. Traveling is not fun.
There is no coordination among the airlines and the so-called political leaders are not leading. I fear that the travel industry is needlessly doomed.

Luckily I dd not need to file a claim. Eight people in my travel group tested positive for Covid-19, one had to be hospitalized. I am not sure that my insurance premium would have covered the additional expenses. Did it?

regretfully i had to cancel this trip bc of a hip issue that is requiring hip replacement- i could not manage walking or traveling. Generali was great to deal with- helpful staff, easy process and follow thru with full refund. Naturally i needed to provide all documentation re: physician letter, treatment history etc. but absolutely no push back and received full refund promptly. very satisfied.

I can say that it is impossible to rate an insurance policy until it is needed. That is the time that the rubber meets the road and the only time that a policy can honestly be rated.
