I lost my iPod on the plane and asked whether that was covered,and I got an email back sayin NO,so although it was not covered at least you returned my emails

Terrible claim experience. Our luggage was stolen and I filed a claim upon our return home. Gave them everything they asked for, including the police report. They apparently waited over two weeks before even looking at it. Then they said they would do nothing until I provided them with completely irrelevant information: they wanted the detailed itinerary of the rest of our trip AFTER the theft occurred. I provide that, and they took another two weeks before paying the claim. What should have been a very simple and quick transaction took a full month to resolve. I will never use this company again.

Our tour operator went bankrupt and fortunately we had bought insurance with tour operator default coverage, something not available from alot of companies or alot of plans. Berkshire Hathaway was reasonable in the documentation they required and, with some prodding from us, was responsive and did cover our entire loss (less what we recovered through our own efforts). Overall we were very satisfied and would use them again.
