The insurance certificate needs to specifically say it covers Covid related claims. I was denied boarding for my flight to Chile because the statement wasn’t on the proof of insurance. I got a screen shot from your web site to convince the agent.

I didn't have the opportunity to file a claim fortunately but I was very satisfied with how responsive they were to my questions. Beyond that I was so happy that insuremytrip gave me the recommendation. I was stranded in Chile during COVID and my normal insurance (Medicare) covered only 60 days of my stay. When I realized that, I paniced and was so glad for the help in finding insurance. Thanks so much for the recommendations.

It's coverage complied with the requirement imposed by the country I traveled to. I never buy travel insurance as I'm covered by my own health insurance worldwide, but Chile wanted basically an X amount to cover Covid. Fortunately all went well and didn't get to use it.

Thank you for your review. However, Tokio Marine HCC does offer a refund if you wish to cancel your policy prior to departure:
"CANCELLATION --
We hope you are happy with the cover this policy provides. However, if after reading it, this insurance does not meet with your requirements, please notify us of your wish to cancel and we will refund your premium.
Premiums will be refunded in full if a cancellation request is received prior to the certificate effective date.
Premiums may be refunded after the certificate effective date subject to the following provisions:
a. A $25 cancellation fee will apply for administrative costs incurred by us; and
b. Only the unused portion of the plan cost will be refunded; and
c. You cannot have filed any claims to be eligible for a premium refund."

I always call insure my trip and have for over 6 years, and have other relatives and acquaintances call when traveling internationally. Before this, I had two incidents happen with others and I know how hard it is to have someone evacuated/extracted.....
