A plan is only as good as how it responds to claims filed. My claim was received on 3/6, yet no action was taken to process it until I had made 2 phone calls (3/27 & 3/31). Then it took more phone calls and another 3 weeks until I received claim payment. Whenever I called, I waited at least 10 minutes to speak with a representative from Tripmate, the claims administrator. Their message was always the same "due to higher than expected call volume...". The call volume wouldn't be higher than expected if claims had been processed in a timely fashion.
Now, before I purchase travel insurance, I ask who the claims administrator is & have eliminated any companies that use Tripmate.
