Our experience was incredibly frustrating—entirely unhelpful and slow with our claim. We traveled to Spain and Austria this summer for a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna, which was unfortunately canceled. Hoping to redirect our funds to a different concert, we tried canceling the trip in advance, expecting our travel policy to cover some costs. They told us there was nothing they could do, so we ultimately went on the trip but adjusted our itinerary slightly and ended up losing money. On our way home, our bags were delayed several days.
We submitted the claim including for baggage delay in August but heard nothing until late October, when we finally received an email that said "see attached claim determination"—with no attachment. I replied, asking them to resend the attachment, but got no response. After two more weeks, I called and they finally sent the letter. Why did I even buy this policy?

Submitted a claim, was supposed to take 10-15 business days to review, ended up taking over 25 or so, but it was approved the second time I called to check and and speed it up.
It was for $250, but still.. Submitted everything and it was all taken care of, happy we paid for insurance.

The policy is the cheapest and provided the coverage needed. But be prepared to wait when claiming against the policy. I claimed from the policy for expenses resulting from a flight delay. The amount was a small reimbursement for meals and it took 2 months to be processed and paid.

We had 3 claims after a trip due to damage to a CPAP, luggage and a travel fan. The process to file a claim is easy and they were quick to respond as well as establish an estimated time line for resolution. They were able to process our claim and reimburse the full amount within 6 weeks. I would definitely use them again.

I filed a claim for a trip that was interrupted due to Covid 19. I am sure they are gonna deny the claim because our situation was complicated and hard to provide some of documents they want (stranded to a place, couldn't get to see a real doctor, etc). However, denied or not, I just want a result to move on. They are ghosting me and it's frustrating.

Although it took about four weeks for the adjuster to start the review of the claim, the process itself was very straightforward and painless. Initially, I submitted all required documentation, and that helped to quickly settle the claim.

At first I was nervous about this plan because it was the second to cheapest option, but I bought it thinking there was very little chance I would need to actually use it. Lo and behold, my trip was cancelled by the tour operator and I had nonrefundable flights. When I was submitting my claim I wasn’t sure if the cancellation reason was covered since it didn’t fall under the usual categories. You do have the option of calling to speak with someone and to ask questions, but I didn’t - I just submitted all my documentation and hoped for the best. The process to submit documentation was simple enough (you can either upload thru the mobile app or send via email), although I wish the mobile app can be improved to provide more details about the claim so that I didn’t need to email again to confirm that my docs were received. They tell you the review process can take up to 15 business days. My claim was approved after 6 business days. Happy it all worked out so I have already purchased Berkshire Hathaway insurance for another upcoming trip and plan to keep using them in the future!

Long time user of insure my trip and this was my first time filing a claim. My husband had to go to urgent care while hiking in Iceland. I was lazy and filed it 7 months after our trip. The process wasn’t completely clear but the person I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and walked me through the process and I was paid in about 4 weeks.
