Did not file a claim even though the cruise ship ruined my husband's carry on suitcase handle. Didn't realize it until we got home. Grabbed it at terminal and put in car and headed home. Didn't check it over then. Our fault. So can't file with insurance or the cruise line as it's to late now.

Although we didn't need the plan, we were comforted that we were covered. The price was excellent and so much lower than the plan the travel agency suggested.

I needed work on my right knee which took me off the list for the Caribbean tour. I provided the required medical documentation and got my airline money back within a few weeks, no arguments, no hassle. So often I pass on travel insurance. No more. John Hancock through its subsidiary Seven Corners Travel paid off 100%, no hassle. I was very pleased!!

(Amended Review) My claim for trip interruption was initially denied for spurious reasons. Although my claim was based on a specifically covered reason (road blockages), it was denied. The reason for denial was based on an exclusion for "war," even though the blocked roads were due to a peaceful protest in a country with neither civil war nor foreign invasion. Even on appeal the claim was initially denied. However, a second review by the company acknowledged that indeed my claim was valid and I was reimbursed the expenses I submitted.

This was my second time buying John Hancock trip insurance via Insuremytrip.com. On our recent vacation in Thailand my girlfriend became ill which required seeing a doctor and modifying our travel arrangements. John Hancock couldn't have been easier to deal with. I spoke to them from Thailand and they immediately started the claims process. When we arrived back in the U.S. I submitted the paperwork via their online portal. At one point they did ask for additional documentation that I didn't realize was required but I completely understood why they needed it to verify the legitimacy of travel change fees. We received the check about a month after we started the claims process. I don't normally write online reviews but I wanted to make sure they receive the credit they deserve. When I purchase trip insurance i have a nagging worry that the company will find a way out of a claim but that absolutely wasn't the case here. I plan to use them again for a cruise this summer.
