You file a claim, you can check the status.
They'll usually review your claim within a month, fairly.

It's a good option.

Took 6 months and multiple call attempts after filing a claim to finally get a denial for an emergency root canal for sudden nerve pain despite the policy saying dental is covered for “Unexpected pain or Treatment due to an Accident”. I even emailed to pre-certify and they responded that dental didn’t need pre-authorization. Regardless of the decision this was absolutely terrible service - 6 months without any response! Stay away from IMG.

The claims process was very slow. I filed a claim on Dec 22, 2017 and it was finally paid on March 15, 2018. Otherwise, the process was fine.

Claims were slow and paid nothing. Delayed payment from my insurance in the US. Very disappointing.

We had the unfortunate need to actually use our IMG service while traveling in Australia. My husband had to be admitted to the hospital for a severe reaction to a jellyfish sting. The customer service representatives were available to answer our questions both times we called (even though it was a weekend and we were in Australian time zone) and were very helpful and friendly. We were so happy to have purchased such a high-quality plan! I should note that while we did use the benefits of the plan, the hospital took care of the claim filing. We have not heard any problems with the claim filing so it seems to have all gone smoothly. You will not regret purchasing this plan, although I hope you won't have to use it!

I got dengue fever while in Asia and had 2 months worth of medical bills. Some with receipts, some without. We contacted them at time of patient care telling them that the Vietnamese doctor didn't speak english and wouldn't give me receipts, so they did not reimburse that portion ($400), although I thought they should since we contacted them as it was happening. They did however reimburse for the amount of the receipted medical expenses, but it took 3 months for the check to come.

My 20 year old son was going to travel in Asia for six months, so we decided to buy a medical/evacuation policy just in case. At one point in his trip he became ill and spent three days in a hospital in Vietnam (FV Hospital--great care). Luckily, he got better, so no one needed to fly out to see him, and he did not need to be evacuated. The bill was about $1,800, which he paid in full with a credit card. We then submitted to bill to our regular health insurance company (the travel plan is secondary), which nicely paid all but $369. IMG them processed the rest of the claim, and paid it, less the $250 deductible. In the end, they paid $119, which is what the policy called for. We were just lucky that our health insurer covered this as well. The claims process was not the fastest (about 6 weeks), but is was accurate, and it was fair. They were very easy to work with, and provided everything they needed to.
