I submitted the required documents and months later they asked for more information including wanting a statement from the physician in Peru who speaks no English . I called customer service and was treated with a very rude response. I don’t know why they are making this so difficult. My claim was for less than $400 and I received an email today stating that the claim is closed. Why? This seems like fraud.
I have used other companies on Insure My Trip and was extremely satisfied. There’s no way I can recommend this company. Regrettably I have them insuring my upcoming trip on a cruise. I will see if I can change to another company. Absolutely horrible experience!

Your Generali Global Assistance Standard plan does include Secondary Coverage which means that this coverage will be paid after any other Primary collectible insurance has paid the claim and the Primary policy limits have been exhausted. In the event of a medical claim, you may have to pay the medical provider out of pocket and receive reimbursement at a later date.

We insured a two week trip to Asia because of our daughter's illness that would require a speedy trip home. The necessity didn't happen. We were glad to be covered for the eventuality, but it was extremely pricy for just two weeks. Had we had to use it obviously the cost would have been well worth it.

I was supposed to go to Istanbul and Greece the day the attack happened on the Ataturk Airport. After landing in Germany and being directed back home, I thought I would get my money back from CSA. However they refused to reimburse me for the airfare (because I used the ticket). I don't understand the virtue of buying a policy that doesn't cover your airfare unless you don't use it. Isn't the point of buying trip insurance to cover you for unforeseen circumstances? Now I get to start saving for my trip all over again.
