We got incredibly lucky on our trip - we were somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean on our plane when the Crowdstrike disaster hit. We had no idea anything had happened until about an hour after we landed, when our train to Bologna Central failed to appear on schedule. Many of the other passengers on our cruise ship were not so lucky - with all flights for most carriers completely grounded for up to 12 hours, the rumor was that several hundred passengers did not make the embarkation time. The ship even delayed over an hour for them.
This is exactly the kind of disaster that cruise ship insurance policies are meant to protect against. Those passengers did nothing wrong, but because of a global disaster, they had to change their final destination to the cruise ship's first port of call. If they didn't have an insurance policy.... that came out of their own pocket.
I'm grateful I didn't have to use my insurance, but also grateful that I had it to begin with. One small mistake from an unrelated company can cause a chain reaction that shuts down the world.

I bought this plan because of the coverage and price. Hence the 5 stars. Was it a good purchase? I think that question can only be answered once a claim has been filed. Fortunately, I did not need to file a claim.

I sent in all required forms and received a letter back wanting information I didn't understand. They wanted proof I paid for the services, but on a cruise ship all payments are put on my credit card they have on file. I havent' received the Am Ex bill as yet. So I give up and lose my money. Will never use you or you or your affiliates, A waste of money and of course they make it difficult so you give up. I am a long time user of your company (check my name) So I lost a few hundred dollars and you all lost a customer. Thank you for your time.

We had to cancel our trip due to our son being diagnosed with a deadly disease. The Nationwide claims representative worked with us and our claim was paid promptly.

The only thing we wanted to claim was some personal items that we had to purchase to replace things that were delayed. Because we were unaware of the requirement to keep every scrap of paperwork, we were unable to complete the claim

So very glad we were covered and even more glad we didn't need it. But one cruiser on our ship was met at a port by an amublance, so it's always possible this coverage will hep.
