While my claim was eventually honored by Itravelinsured, I had to constantly call their Customer Service department to find out why no action was being taken. The company twice denied getting documents I had submitted, even though I had codes indicating they had received them. The process dragged out for months. Finally they asked for a document that didn't exist and had no relevance to the claim, and failed to respond to my efforts to submit the information requested by sending two documents which together supplied the information they asked for. If I had not requested help from InsureMyTrip, I may never have gotten paid, but my representative at InsureMyTrip promptly expedited my claim and I finally got paid. But what a hassle!

Did we really need your insurance? We were advised to get it, so we did. We spoke to other people on our cruise + they did not get insurance. They had enough in savings + credit cards to cover any expense. I suppose if anything had happened to us, we would be glad we had it.

It is hard to say if the Co. was good or bad. Did not make a claim. From what I understand most of these companies make you jump thru many hoops to collect.

I chose this plan for 2 reasons. First, last year my husband and I took a trip to Jordan, Egypt and Dubai and contacted Covid while on our Nile River Cruise we think because we tested positive upon arrival in Dubai and had to quarantine in our hotel for 10 days. I had a policy then with IMG who paid the claim fairly and promptly in just 4 weeks. We had a supplemental policy through Emirates Airline and they took 9 months to process the claim for the balance. Secondly, this policy that we purchased covered medical expenses as the primary insurance so if anything did happen, we wouldn't have to file first with our US based insurance companies, only to have them deny the claim and then refile with IMG. Unlike another policy I reviewed with Insure my trip, IMG would have been primary making it far easier to process a medical claim. I have had to process a small doctor visit claim in the past from getting sick while on a cruise and had to file first with Blue Cross, who denied it, and then filed again with the insurance company that entire process took 3 months. Having IMG become primary was a feature that I liked and valued even though I did not need to use it this trip.
