I bought the IMG iTravelInsured SE plan for this trip because a couple of our cruise ports were in foreign countries, and I'd recently seen a friend get injured in one. We're in our 60's and thought insurance was a good idea, particularly for emergency medical transport overseas, which I heard was expensive. The cruise was a big celebration for my sister-in-law's retirement; we were really looking forward to it.
To my surprise my husband's back started bothering him a few months before the cruise. He worked with PT, a chiropractor & his Dr to no avail. Three weeks out he collapsed in pain and was scheduled for urgent surgery, we weren't going anywhere.
I contacted IMG and they immediately emailed a claim form. A real human being was available for my questions. It took about 4 weeks for them to review and process our claim. No fuss or drama. This was a big relief, as we were already miserable about missing the cruise and letting down family.
Bottom line, I highly recommend IMG's travel insurance and will use them again.

With the multiple delays during our cruise, due to Hurricane Helene, I had to call IMG twice. The agents were very helpful and explained how the claims process worked and what was covered.

I chose this plan because my sister and I were going on a 5 day cruise leaving on the peak day of Hurricane Season here in Florida. I called Insure My Trip and asked them to recommend a policy that would cover us in case of a hurricane. They recommended the IMG plan because it had a NOAA clause that if a hurricane warning was posted for either our port of departure - Tampa, or any port we would be going to (eg. Key West, Cozumel), then we would be able to cancel our cruise. Insurance reimbursement would take into consideration anything we would have received from the Cruiseline but should they have chosen not to cancel the cruise or totally rerouted us, we had peace of mind knowing that IMG would have our back. In the end, we have perfect weather, and we sailed with only 40% of the number of passengers the ship would hold (probably because people didn't want to sail during hurricane season) and we had a great time and didn't need to use our policy. But I have gotten a few policies from IMG in the past and once even had to file a claim that was quickly reimbursed. So I was more than happy to insure with them again.

I was extremely nervous traveling to Mexico for an extended period of time. I wasn't so worried about me hurting myself, more so if there was an accident on the streets or something beyond my control. I did my research and this was definitely the best plan with the highest covererages and a reasonable rate. It was literally the cost of one high end dinner here in the states. I felt totally covered on my trip and didn't worry at all. I highly recommend this even if it just gives you peace of mind.

good price to cover medical needs out of country. no issues paying and getting coverage cards. no issues during trip so no need to file a claim. nice to have a little security just in case. thank you. ill be back for future coverage.

The plan was expensive! We did file a claim for medical expenses while out of the country. The response was slow, and not very organized. They waited nearly a month to ask for more documentation! Once they received the additional documentation, they did pay the claim.

I did file a sickness claim this trip with a doctor coming to see me in my villa. My claim is being processed as we speak with results unknown now. Once I know if they reimburse me I can speak more knowledgably. For me, not a computer guru, the claim process took me some time. No matter what you may be submitting a claim on, make sure you keep all receipts and paperwork handy.
