Travel Insurance Reviews for AXA Assistance USA Gold

Fortunately didn't need to use the insurance so a bit hard to review. Given the coverage we asked for, the price seemed pretty excessive (but was comparable to others.)

I called Axa's emergency phone # for emergency medical assistance while on a trip to England. I'm a 68 year old man and thought I might have to leave my trip to come home early; I twisted my leg on a very active trip.
I was made to feel like I was trying to "game" the system when I called for help.  All I heard was how to file a claim.  Multiple times. I didn't want to file a claim, I needed medical assistance.
Once the rep understood what I really needed, an email was 'sent' to me.  The email never left their system (I confirmed, some sort of IT screw up). They have one job to do - help their traveling clients. As far as I'm concerned, they abrogated their contract with me.
There was no follow up on that email until I sent an upset note the day after i didn't receive it.
Axa did not know where I was; they thought I was in Turkey.

As far as I'm concerned, Axa Travel Guard is a scam.

It took awhile to find, but this is better than what any other typical insurance company provides. I didn't need to make a claim, but the coverage appeared excellent for price.

I have now used this company roughly six times, and each time I have found the staff to be courteous, clear, and conscientious in sifting through options to find the right policy for my wife and me: good work!

Easy to find a good policy at a good price. Glad we didn't have to use it.

a bit pricey

Really hard to rate without actually having filed a claim. That's where satisfaction lies - or not. So - based on my experience buying it and comparing it to other plans, I'm satisfied.

The first best thing about the plan is the wonderful help the representatives on the phone give in finding the right plan with the right coverage.

The next best thing about the plan is not having to use it!

I feel it is a good plan but the price point is high

I wish the cost were lower, but.............that being said..................there is comfort it knowing that at 80 years old, I can still travel . As careful as I try to be, things can happen. I would not travel out of the USA without it . I have never had to use it...................but then.................I do not want to.
