I went on a vacation and had some unfortunate medical issues. The emergency provider, On-Call is horrible and they bury you in paperwork instead of trying to help you.

TravelEx Claim Administration is no better. I filed 2 separate claims and provided all the documentation and now 1 month later I have not received any payment or information. I called to follow up and I was told someone would call me but noone did.

They did string me along, making partial payments until I persisted..

Finally 4 months later and several faxes and mailings later, the claim was settled, not exactly an easy process but I did get 95% of the claim reimbursed..

Great coverage. My luggage was so badly damaged, it needed to be replaced before returning home. I purchased a new suitcase, submitted paperwork required and in a couple weeks was reimbursed. Excellent service.

This is the fourth year in a row that we have insured a trip through Travelex. Their prices were fair with good value and, when BA lost our luggage, they reimbursed us promptly for the personal items we had to buy as replacements.

When I saw that I had an eye infection, I called Travelex and asked for an ophthalmologist. I was told they would get back to me and that it might take 6 hours. I was surprised that there isn't a list for all major cities of doctors that can be used. I didn't get an email until June 28th, the day we were leaving on our cruise! I knew this infection would only get worse as I have had one or two previously. I'm glad I checked with a pharmacist who told me I could go to the Walk-In Clinics in London or see a private doctor. I thought all Walk-In Clinics were like the U.S. so I went there. Short story, Walk-in Clinics in England are staffed by nurses who gave me the name of an over-the-counter medicine. I turned my claim in to my insurance company first, who refused payment. Travelex did set me up with a claim # and had emailed me the forms. I then turned in the claim with the proper supporting documentation and it was paid very quickly.

Have always purchased Travelex insurance plans for all of my cruises. It is one of the few companies that includes children at no extra cost and is a primary insurance policy. We had to file a medical claim once and the process was smooth without any hassle. Have already recommend to family and friends.

It is less money than travel companies and provides more medical coverage than most for seniors. My friend and I had never missed a trip, but both had medical problems this time, and we were promptly reimbursed for airfare.

The customer service with this company was excellent. I had a claim. They were courteous and very prompt with responses. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is that they do not consider airport parking a necessary expense when your travel is delayed. I disagree. If I have a vehicle parked at an airport while I am traveling, and can't get back to it at the planned time, in other words - delayed, then, it is an extra expense that I would not have incurred if I had arrived at the airport as planned. In my opinion, my one day of extra parking should have been covered in the delayed coverage.

After I filed the claim they responded very quickly with a check. The only thing I didn't like was there was no interim correspondence such as they had received the claim, etc. They denied part of the claim but never sent a letter stating why. However, when I emailed them asking for a reason they reviewed it again and sent an additional check.

I called Travelex and spoke with a customer service rep who immediately emailed the necessary form and it was simple to complete. Check arrived with a fairly reasonable time. No problems!

Travelex did cover a large amount of our claim and were responsive to requests for clarification. That said, the process was very cumbersome. We filled out pages and pages of paperwork to process the claim, which took months, and then they mailed us a check with no explanation. The process was certainly not easy, nor simple, after experiencing an incredible trauma on vacation.
